How to Get Your Customers to Spread the Word about Your Information Product

You might think that once a customer has purchased your product that the sale is over. However, if what you could turn one sale into dozens of more sales? It’s possible to do this if you can get your customers to spread the word about your product. Here are a few ways to do that…

Encourage Them Tweet or Share on Facebook

As soon as a buyer makes a purchase, ask them to share it on social media. Create simple formulated tweets and social updates that customers can easily click through and post. That makes it simple for them to update their friends and followers. In addition, it’s more exposure for your business.

You’re probably already familiar with one company that uses this practice—Amazon. Every time someone makes an order, Amazon displays sharing buttons so the customer can tell all of their contacts about what they just bought.

Follow Up on Reviews

If you’re hearing good things from your customers in their reviews, follow up. Leave a comment letting the customer know how much you appreciate them and how much you value customer satisfaction.

Then ask your reviewer if you can share their kind words on social media. If they give you permission to share, encourage them to do the same thing within their favorite networks.

Ask Them in Your Autoresponder

You can also try for the direct method here. Set up a series of autoresponders to reach out to your customer after their purchase. Be sure to thank them for buying then ask them to share their sales experience with their friends and family.

If you wanted, you could mention sharing on social media. Provide them with a button to click on. When they press the button, their social content can be pre-populated so they don’t have to type anything.

Use Customer Success Stories

When a customer takes the time to let you know about their success or positive experience, thank them. However, don’t just file the email away or worse, delete.

Go on to ask if you share their words on your website. Ask for a headshot and their name so you can post their words as a testimonial on your sales page.

If the story they’ve shared is particularly compelling, ask to interview them about their experience. Then turn that conversation into a success story or case study. Your potential customers will be more likely to make a purchase when they see the results other buyers received.

Offer Stellar Customer Service

When a customer asks a question, be prompt and courteous. Make sure that you answer all of their questions and direct them to more resources to help like your FAQ section or help desk.

If a customer is sharing a negative experience, offer to go the extra mile. When you do this, you can turn a negative experience into a positive one that the customer can’t help but share with their friends and family.

Don’t forget about your customers as soon as the payment goes through. Continue to nurture and develop your relationship with them so they’ll want to tell others about your information product. You can get content for product creation by visiting websites that sell ready made content with a private label rights license. and use the content to brainstore ideas for your info product.
